Preparing for Your Appointment
We’re looking forward to welcoming you. Below you’ll find helpful information to ensure your appointment feels relaxed, efficient, and enjoyable from start to finish.
LOCATION AND DURATION
For on-location services, our artists will arrive at the address you provided at the time of booking.
Our studio is in Center City Philadelphia
at Ola Beauty 1118 Pine Street, Philadelphia 19107.
Appointment Length
Makeup or Hair only: 60 minutes
Makeup + Hair: 90 minutes
Parking at the studio:
Street parking and nearby garages are available. A commonly used garage is located on 11th Street between South and Lombard (SP+ Parking). Please allow extra time to park, as late arrivals may impact your service.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may need to reschedule your appointment, and the full appointment fee will apply.
For on-location appointments at a hotel or private residence, clients are responsible for any parking fees. At hotels, stylists will use valet parking and charge it to your room unless other arrangements are made in advance.
PREPARING FOR YOUR MAKEUP APPOINTMENT
We encourage you to arrive in comfortable clothing and, if possible, wear colors similar to the outfit you’ll be wearing for your event. This helps you better visualize your final look.
If you plan to wear accessories—such as jewelry or hair pieces—please bring them with you.
Inspiration images are always welcome. Browsing Pinterest, fashion editorials, or beauty magazines can help clarify what styles resonate with you. As you gather inspiration, consider what draws you in: glowing skin, defined eyes, soft lips, or an overall mood.
It’s also helpful to think about:
Skin finish preferences (glowy, natural, or matte)
Coverage level (light, medium, or full)
Any skin concerns you’d like addressed
When selecting inspiration images, look for models with similar features—such as skin tone, eye shape, and hair color—as makeup and hair can translate very differently depending on these factors. Our goal is always to enhance your natural beauty in a way that feels balanced and authentic.
During your appointment, we’ll review your inspiration together and refine a look that feels cohesive, flattering, and true to you. If you’re unsure of what direction to take, we’re happy to guide you with professional recommendations.
Our team has extensive experience working in photography, videography, and film, ensuring your look translates beautifully both in person and on camera.
Please bring a lipstick of your choice for touch ups later in the day.
PREPARING YOUR HAIR
Please bring inspiration images of hairstyles you’re considering.
If your hair is fine or shorter and you’d like to wear it down, clip-in extensions may help add volume or length. If you plan to use extensions, please purchase real-hair clip-in extensions in advance and bring them with you.
For bun or structured updo styles, extensions are typically not necessary. In some cases, we may use a mesh insert for added volume—please let us know ahead of time if this applies.
Blowout appointments: Hair will be washed and blown out; waves can be added.
Styling appointments (updos, half-up styles, etc.): Please arrive with hair washed and fully dried.
PREPARING YOUR SKIN
Each makeup application is fully customized to your features, preferences, and comfort level. While we commonly use techniques such as contouring, brow enhancement, and airbrush makeup, all shades and finishes are tailored specifically to you.
We recommend completing any facial waxing, tweezing, or threading prior to your appointment.
In the weeks leading up to your visit:
Stay well-hydrated
Avoid excessive sun exposure or tanning beds
Maintain a consistent skincare routine
Well-moisturized skin allows makeup to apply and wear beautifully.
If you regularly use acne treatments or retinol-based products, we suggest reducing usage to a few times per week and focusing on hydration instead. Makeup performs best on healthy, balanced skin.
For fair-skinned clients seeking a bronzed look, makeup alone may not achieve the desired result. A light airbrush tan can be helpful. One of our local favorites is Baked in Philadelphia.
